Lots of horsepower is meaningless, if you can’t get it to the wheels. And let’s face it, stock OEM clutches & OEM flywheels just aren’t up for the task of transferring a Lot of power.
Fortunately, SPEC Clutches is a leader in the world of high performance aftermarket clutches, flywheels and pressure plates. SPEC clutches are known for retaining a stock clutch pedal feel, while providing a much higher clamping force. Each clutch is manufactured to the exact OEM specifications, and SPEC clutches & SPEC flywheels are proudly made in the U.S.A.
SPEC clutches are available in several different “stages”. But what is the difference between stages? Glad you asked!
Stage One: High clamp pressure plate, steel-backed woven organic disk, bearings and clutch tool. Best for naturally aspirated and mildly modified engines. A stage 1 clutch features stock-like daily drivability and good wear characteristics.
Stage Two: High clamp pressure plate, segmented chatter-free Kevlar disc, bearings and clutch tool. For mild to moderately modified engines. A stage 2 clutch is also good for a stock vehicle that gets driven “in a spirited fashion”. Expect stock-like daily drivability and excellent wear characteristics.
Stage Three: High-clamp pressure plate, 3-piece disc with carbon or ceramic material, bearings and a clutch tool. For heavily modified street and race engines. Offers sharp but smooth engagement with a light pedal. A stage 3 clutch also features good wear characteristics under low and high stress usage. (Great Street/Strip clutch!)
Stage Four: High-clamp pressure plate, 2-piece rigid disc, bearings and a clutch tool. Available in 3 or 6 wing design for serious road racing and drag racing. For heavily modified engines or engines of any modification level being used in the above driving environments, where an instantaneous engagement and light weight are beneficial. A stage 4 clutch is not street-friendly, due to its harsh engagement.
Stage Five: High-clamp load pressure plate, iron disc, bearings and a clutch tool.
For extremely modified drag race and pulling engines, or applications that call for a ‘slipper’ clutch/progressive torque-induced engagement. These clutches are best ordered as custom configured and should be ordered after providing specific information about the car and it’s purpose to a SPEC technical assistant. Stage 5 clutches are not street-friendly due to their harsh engagement.
Most of the products we offer are returnable. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the item within 30 days of delivery of your order. The item(s) must be in a new condition, including original packaging, parts and paperwork. Orders returned in a new, ready-to-sell condition will receive a refund, less a 20% restocking fee and excluding any shipping costs.
Before returning an item please fill out the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Form found here. Upon your return approval you will receive an RMA# and instruction on how to proceed.
If you don't receive your refund within 10 business days of your returned package delivery, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that include your RMA number and original order number.
